If you are currently employed in the field or hope to be, we want Boston Women in Media & Entertainment to be a voice and a resource for you. Our Board of Directors roster reads like a who’s who in Boston media and entertainment. And it was designed to be that way. From radio to television and public relations to singers, recording artists and women who work behind the microphone, we believe that breaking into these fields and staying strong once you get there is easier when you do it together. Our Live & Learn series in partnership with the Arts and Business Council of Massachusetts (A&BC), provides meaningful programs and valuable connections across our shared community. A BWME Membership includes a complimentary one-year Artist Membership to the A&BC, the benefits of which include significant discounts to events and workshops and free access to a growing professional development webinar library. Our series, The Story Behind Her Success will introduce you to inspiring, successful women who will generously share their experiences with a live audience.  These one-on-one interviews will take place at the Westin Copley Place, Boston….BWME‘s official venue for the series. As a member, you’ll be invited to our quarterly networking parties where you’ll meet women who share your goals. BWME‘s signature event, Stars Over Boston is the city’s unique version of American Idol where 10 completely unknown but incredibly talented singers perform for their favorite charity and a guaranteed spot on the Emmy Award winning TV talent show, Community Auditions. This year’s champion was also invited to sing at the annual Red Cross Breakfast, the Boston Tree Lighting and as part of the South Shore Mall’s holiday entertainment program.Finally, our need based scholarship program in partnership with area schools, benefits women declaring majors in media and the arts. Potential members are encouraged to let us know if they are experiencing financial hardship and we’ll provide membership assistance whenever we can.
